On Tuesday the 26th of September, Suzie Mahony came to our school in hopes of teaching us her trade - millinery. This trade involves making hats for special occasions, weddings, formal events etc. We were really excited to do this and see how hard it actually was.
After around one hour of pinning, stitching, entwining and accidentally cutting ourselves, our hats were made. Some of our creations may even be worthy to be worn in public (just not by us!).
The millinery was actually were tranquil and relaxing, something i did not expect, but once you get on a roll with that needle and thread, you can sit back and watch your own creation unfold. I really enjoyed it.
