On Thursday the 14th of December 2017, Portumna Community School presented 'GAA With a Twist'. 'GAA With a Twist' involved lots of performances to show off our talent here in PCS. It featured the TY's/2nd year music students, and students from other years.
The show refelcted on the history of the genesis of the GAA, scenes from 'Philadelphia Here I Come' and 'Many Young Men of Twenty' and a medley of 'Grease' and 'All shook up'.
GAA With a Twist was written and produced by our vice principal Mr Coughlan, with musical direction from our music teacher Ms Coyle. Angela Didek also came into the school every week to help us with our choreography. Ms Lohan helped us with our costumes. We were all assigned jobs and roles. My part was to sing a song called 'Moonlight in Mayo' in the first act. I was super nervous but it was a real confidence boost.
Overall I really enjoyed the experience and would love to do a show again.
