On the 2nd of January, Kevin Molloy and Damien Coleman came to our school. They came to teach us what to do and what not to do when it comes to coaching young people. This was part of our Future Leaders programme with the GAA. They gave us a lecture on what components are necessary when it comes to coaching young people.
After this, we were assigned group tasks. These tasks included practising our coaching skills by teaching our fellow peers the basics of hurling, and then making a drill and a game. I found this part very interesting as it showed us that its not as hard as it seems.
The day was very good and I really enjoyed the experience of it.
